Ivan Vishnyakov Biography

Ivan Yakovlevich Vishnyakov, a famous Russian painter, was a pupil of Louis Caravaque, a French artist, who worked in Russia. He worked in the 1730s in the Painting Department of the Ministry of Construction, and became the Head of that Department after the untimely death of

Andrey Matveev in 1739. Only a few of his paintings remained, the most famous is Sarah Eleanor Fermore (c.1750).
