Eros (Cupid) – the god of love, son of
Aphrodite
(Venus). Very often depicted as a naughty child with a toy bow and arrows,
which can inflict cruel wounds as his whims dictate (everyone wounded by
one kind of arrows falls in love with the first one met, another kind of
arrows arouses repulsion to the first one met).
One of the most celebrated legends in which a grown-up Eros plays a
part is the romantic story of Psyche.
