Anne Bateman, later Mrs. John Gisborne. Anne Bateman was the daughter of William Bateman, a Derby lawyer and friend of Wright’s father, who was himself an attorney. She married John Gisborne of Staffordshire and became the mother of Thomas Gisborne, of whom Wright made a portrait as well.
