Alphonse Maureau was a French Impressionist painter, exact details of his life are unknown. He was a friend of Degas and Manet, and Desboutin. In 1877, he participated in the 3rd Impressionist Exhibition with four works. Edouard Manet painted him in Man in a Round Hat (Alphonse Maureau)
