Musin-Pushkin, Alexei Ivanovich (1744-1817), count, Russian statesman, historian, member of the Academy of Science, President of the Academy of Arts. He had a big collection of ancient manuscripts and books, many of which were lost in 1812 during Napoleon’s occupation of Moscow. He found and published many works of the old Russian literature, “Prince Igor” among them
