Elector Augustus of Saxony (1526-1586), cousin of Johann Friedrich I (1503-1554), Elector of Saxon, who, because of his adherence to the Reformation, was deprived of his electorate by Emperor Charles V in favor of his cousins in 1547. Augustus was married twice: in 1548 he married princess Anna of Denmark (1532-1585); in 1586 he married princess Agnes Hedwig of Anhalt (1573-1616)
